Honoring Lives, Cultivating Hope

The Flowerpot Project transforms sites of tragedy into symbols of healing and resilience. By replacing makeshift shrines with self-watering flowerpots, we honor those lost to violence while creating lasting beauty in our communities. These flowerpots, adorned with the names of the fallen, serve as beacons of remembrance, unity, and hope.

This initiative is more than a memorial; it is a call to action—an effort to combat the “Man-Made Disease of Trauma” by fostering community healing, environmental sustainability, and social change. Each flowerpot helps to Save the 3-Bs (Babies, Butterflies, Bees), recognizing their essential role in our future.

Through partnerships, sponsorships, and community involvement, The Flowerpot Project brings people together to replace despair with growth, violence with peace, and loss with renewal. Join us in planting seeds of change and ensuring that every life is honored with dignity and love.

The Flowerpot Project transforms places of tragedy into symbols of healing, resilience, and remembrance. Instead of makeshift shrines, we place self-watering flowerpots to honor those lost to violence while fostering beauty and unity within communities. Each flowerpot represents hope, goodwill, and a commitment to ending the “Man-Made Disease of Trauma” (MMDT).

Introducing The Musketeer Association’s CEO & Founder

“I pledge to stand forth as a constant reminder to myself and others to bring light, beauty, and truth. To unify, honor, and ignite a beacon of hope and goodwill across our neighborhoods, our communities, our cities, and our nation. Wherever there is despair, hopelessness, oppression, fear, injustice, or humiliation, I will be that lighthouse directing all toward safety and justice until acts of tyranny reign no more, not even for one of us!”

Rukiye Z. Abdul-Mutakallim, CEO & Founder of The Musketeer Association (TMA)

The tragic loss of her son in 2015 to a senseless act of violence led Rukiye to take action. Instead of turning inward with grief, she chose forgiveness and activism, creating The Musketeer Association (TMA) and pioneering community-driven initiatives like The Flowerpot Project to replace despair with purpose. Her journey has been featured in powerful documentaries, including The Power of Forgiveness, a 2019 Webby Award-winning documentary, and a viral courtroom moment seen by over 44.7 million viewers.

A Vision Rooted in Action

The Flowerpot Project is more than just a memorial—it’s a movement. By placing decorative, self-watering flowerpots at sites where lives were lost, we create permanent tributes that symbolize healing and inspire collective action. Each pot includes the victim’s name and a sponsor’s dedication, ensuring they are honored with dignity and respect.

Our mission is clear:
Eradicate the “Pandemic of Violence” plaguing communities
Promote healing, resiliency, and justice for families and neighborhoods
Save the 3-Bs (Babies, Butterflies, Bees)—protecting our ecosystem and future

The 3-Cs: Our Method to Save the 3-Bs

To combat systemic violence and trauma, TMA has implemented the 3-Cs Approach woven into The Flowerpot Project:

Comprehensiveness – Addressing the root causes of trauma and the societal impact of violence, racism, and systemic inequality.
Consistency – Establishing sustainable, long-term projects that foster ongoing healing, education, and resilience.
Collaboration – Uniting individuals, organizations, and city officials to create lasting solutions and rebuild communities.

A Call to Action: Be Part of the Change
